Bryan Anthony Moore
Exhibition July 14th-22nd
Bryan Anthony Moore challenges the authenticity of historical objectivism through illustrations that highlight the ridiculousness of propaganda-laden texts and through critical yet humorous illuminations that act as visual metaphors to the chimeric formation of myth-histories. His works encompass religion, politics and history as interrelated aspects of a national mythos. Moore works in styles and media that mimic those of the time of the historic subjects depicted, often "aging" the work, producing "documents" that may be viewed as having been captured from the past. His work asks the viewer to consider that history is as fictive as it is factual, and that documentation of current and past events is more subjective than scientific.
Moore spent two weeks at MING Studios creating a new large scaled work based on significant current events. Moore's 'Pop-up Show' rans July 14th thru 22nd, 2017.
