MING Studios is pleased to welcome Veiko Valencia to the space. Valencia is currently in residence at MING Studios, preparing new work for his upcoming solo exhibition, THE ISLAND OF DOUBT, opening Saturday, September 21st.

Veiko Valencia, born in 1983 in Arequipa, Peru, is an artist currently based in Boise, Idaho. He began his studies at the Carlos Baca Flor Art School in Arequipa in 2005, and later earned both his BFA and MFA from Boise State University in 2017.

Valencia's work merges observational painting and drawing with spontaneous experimentation using found objects. He approaches his art with a mix of playfulness and thoughtful reflection, integrating traditional techniques with ironic choices. His work often seems perpetually in progress, continually exploring without a predetermined direction.
