THROUGH THE WORMHOLE
Jose ''Prime'' Reza
June 21-July 20, 2018
Original member of the K2S graffiti crew, Jose "Prime" Reza is considered one of the most influential artists in the history of Los Angeles graffiti. His internationally recognized calligraphic work has been developed over the past 30 years.
In his debut solo exhibition THROUGH THE WORMHOLE, Prime conjures a physical, mental and spiritual non-place. He sacrifices literal, legible letter forms and moves toward an abstract language characterized as bold, black strokes of sumi ink complimented by vibrant color. The stripped back, elemental imagery speaks to the artist's mastery of his tools, and to his personal acknowledgement that not all meaning can be put into words.
